Revised - 10th Month, 2009
Goodness, I had no idea it had been so long since I last wrote here, though I have been writing volumes in my book and of course, to Congress and my emails.
Mark is in Tennessee (now, Canada), taking care of a large, rustic property. He seems well settled in.
I missed George's birthday. Well, he missed mine so - 6 of 1 and half-dozen of the other...
I am surrounded by cancers: Bishop Sam (still holding well), Kevin (now deceased as of September, 2009). Frankly, mine seems so insignificant by comparison.
With the projected treatments due to start soon, I am not worried, once the initial gold-bead implacement is done.
The rest of me seems to be holding up well, thanks be to God. Well, except for my weight challenges! I just weigh too much! At any age this is dangerous, but the older one gets, the greater the risk of diabetes and other factors which are harder to deal with being fat and old.
Getting around poses its own problems, shortness of breath becomes a problem, and there is only so much the doctor may be expected to do, but it isn't like I eat a chocolate cake every night just before bed! I eat sensibly and try not to indulge too much in carbs.
I don't know...very annoying.
Well, another day gone, nearly.
The Biden-Palin debate tonight...hope he whollops the tar out of her. She is so smug, so arrogant - vacuous, really. And nature abhors a vacuum!
She knows nothing, but when you are a put-down queen, it hardly matters, since it is never a test of knowledge, but a battle of witty bon-mots. Empty is fine as long as the tongue is engaged.
And McCain, that poor old fool...he is lost in a wonderland of doddering vapidity, too.
(Again, late 2009) Happily, the election turned out well - at least I pray so.
It is difficult at this point, to determine the precise "attitude" of Obama. He is a fine orator, but the Republic is in dire straits: I think speeches for the ages might well be left to one side, so long as the more necessary work of the moment gets done.
